  • fift quid charging solution

Can anyone recommend a wall powered charger that also lipo balances for around fifty quid?

    (For 11.1 / 1800 batteries)

    Thanks

The cellpro 4s by aurorra will be the kiddy, its 12v though but a mains PSU that kicks out 13.8v will give you a mains powered capability

As far as i am aware,at present the Cellpro is the only charger with a proper inbuilt balancer that actually works

      That looks cool.

I have had a root around in my bits and bobs box and found one of these:

      http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...n35az&doy=29m4

would that work? I have no idea when it comes to electrics, and dont want to take any chances.

This is the best PSU it will handle up to 20 AMPS

I cannot recommend that charger on Ebay as its totally unknown to me

The Cellpro is a very good charger, hopefully other users will offer advice also

That fag lighter adaptor is not powerful enough. It only gives 1A at 12v.
Now to charge your 1800 11.1v at 1c would be 1.8a.

I use a mains adaptor for a caravan electric coolbox that I bought from yeomans camping store for 20 quid.

It is also possible to use an old PC powersupply by tapping into the 12v which is somewhere on the motherboard plug - but that is a bit of an electronics project.

There are other mains based balance chargers. I had one from align but I strongly suspect it overcharged my lipos and ruined two of them.

the aurrora and the power supply look like a good solution, but it is a bit beyond my fifty quid budget

                pompeyjohn, buy right buy once...

the cell pro is proven techonogy that works. I have an old 30v 2amp adjustable PSU. i set it to 13.8 and connect this to my 12v gell cell that i use to power my starter and charger when at the field.

this charges the battery in the flight box and it charges it up. If im charging at >2amps then the charger will take the rest off the battery in the flight box then once the charge is done the PSU will recharge the battery in the flight box.

if i didnt have the PSU i would defo buy the ripmax one.
