  • just finished building my raptor titan se now the electrics

hi all i have just finished building my raptor 50 titan se ( first build ). I made sure it was followed step by step greased and locktite in all the right places . I will be looking at getting the servos and the gyro in the next few days can anyone one out there make any suggestions , i have been looking at savox , align , and futaba , i would like to buy some half decent servos but i dont want to go over the top i have read that align servos are along the same lines as savox . As much help and information will be appreciated , oh and my radio will be a dx7.

    In my T-rex 600 and 700 I am using Align DS610s on the cyclic. I have a DS620 on my 600 tail and a DS650 on the 700 tail.

Thus far the DS610s have been fine all round. I did have one issue with a DS620 but I think it was just a duff servo. Pegasus Models replaced it under warranty and the new one has been fine thus far.

I have fitted a Spartan Quark gyro to my 700 and it's holding the tail well. All of my other helis have the old faithful Futaba GY401 on them.

Most of the Aligns, fair few Spektrum bits, bunch of Align & HiTec servos, OBE, VD & Bar.

      All great advice.

The only extra thought I'd throw in is that as you have a Raptor there rather than a T-Rex 600, you may want to consider putting something stronger on for the pitch servo as the Raptor uses mechanical mixing rather than eCCPM.

Not vital if you are just learning, but worth considering if you'll be moving to 3D soon.

Oh yeah sorry was going to say try the align 610's and 620 on the tail.

They are resonable servos, not to expensive, but make sure you have a good power regulator - they do like to suck some amps.

If you're new to flying you are bound to have a couple of prangs and take the gears out once or twice. The align gears are fairly easy to change and not to expensive.

If you want a top quality servo capable of 8V then the BLS451 is hard to beat. The Spektrum H6040's are also getting great reports and the service by Horizon is incredible.
