Yer, those red gears suck, if it fails get a QUK tail, also if you are
running high head speed I would advise changing the tail hub, I have heard bad things about them.............never had the problem personally but I replaced mine never the less.
Thanks Nutz. Looks like this is the second post you're helping me with. Boy, am I chalking up the favours-due column!
QuickUK? I'll have a look at their site now. I'm currently tossing around the choice of either buying one of those sky tach's or a RevLock, and without either of those I'm battling to get my head speed constant. While I'm getting into favour-debt, I might as well as if you have a suggestion, as I'd prefer not to get both?
Cheers
Andrew
I've got a perfect flying record - I've not left one up there yet!
A governor really helps with setting the heli up phili.
A badly setup heli wont be cured by a governor, but a well setup heli will be complememted with one.
What throttle curves does one use for a govenor? I've heard the following:
you dont need throttle curves per-se, cos the governor does the throttle for you.
With some governors (revlocks included) the governor will look at the incoming throttle channel and try and predict what the head will do. If for example you slam open throttle, it will know that the head will slow, and put the throttle up immediately.
You should (I beleive) keep your normal throttle curves (ie without a governor) in case the governor gives up on you. If you have curves like you suggest (90,90,90,90,90) then you could potentially get 90 throttle with 0 pitch - bad!
If the governor os working, the throttle curve plays very little part.
But if you do get 90% throttle with 0 pitch because the Gov fails you can flick into Normal flight mode which should have a normal curve,it wont be a disaster
That's assuming that my brain doesn't disengage....
I've just downloaded the RevLock 10 manual. It says keep your throttle curves normal-ish. On normal mode, have a flat 1 to 100 curve, and the standard v-curve in idle-ups.
Anyone object if I go ahead and order me one of those?
