  • Training Gear and Govenor?

    Hi Folks

I've been flying heli's in RealFlight World since Jan 07, and have had about 10 flights on a mini-pred, 2 on a Raptor 50. I'm at the point where I can hover tail-in just fine, and I'm getting so much more comfortable with side-on hovering. All with the mini-pred, which is sooo much harder than the Raptor.

    Two questions, if I may
    1. When do I ditch the training gear?
    2. As I don't have a optical tacho and one costs about the same as a RevLock govenor, should I get myself a governor for my Raptor?

    Thanks
    Andrew
I've got a perfect flying record - I've not left one up there yet!

Just ditch the training gear, if you can hover fine you don't need it. Helis fly much better and easier without training gear.

The revlock is well worth investing in. I have the revlock and it is excellent. But you would be well advised to get an experienced flyer to set it up for you and check to make sure it operates fine.

If you can land fine, you don't need the training gear.

      Cheers,
