sounds like good advice to me, nothing worse than turning up with Futaba gear at an all JR field......or vice versa.

I presume that's an in-joke I don't get , but are Futuba to be avoided? Is it the Skoda of the Tx world?

            nothing wrong with futaba,

your either a futaba flyer or a JR flyer, both as good as each other depends on your fancy.

I think you tend to stick with what you start with if that makes sense.

I started with Futaba through recomendation and have stuck with it ever since.

When the 2.4 GHz version of my FF7 appears I might be tempted (also with a lottery win) but until then I'll stick with Futaba on 35 MHz.

I've heard JR make radios of some description as well

              Cheers

I always used to fly futaba, when I got back into it I still bought futaba(ff9). Then a few weeks ago got the DX7 because of flying electric. at first I didnt like the look and quality,. but I have to say it has grown on me. and when flying it feels far more comfortable. or does that sound stoopid.

With the announcement of two new JR transmitters yesterday the field is even more open. There's a new PCM9X with built in 2.4ghz and a new 12 channel 2.4ghz, both using Spektrum DSM2 technology so they work with all current Spektrum receivers. Note these are from JR, not standard radios upgraded with Spektrum modules and so should be quicker.

Of curse, this has to be announced just after I've sent my 9X away to be upgraded to 9XII spec. and pre-ordered a Spektrum module & receiver
