        Hi

Sounds like you are falling into the trap that many others do when setting up CCPM mixing for the first time.
You reverse the function (the pitch) in the the radio's CCPM menu, most give a default value of 60%, if you need to reverse the pitch keep reducing this 60% value until it is a negative value.
The radio's chanel reversing function will reverse the channel only and not the contol function.
Hope you can follow the above, it's a bit confusing to start with but easy enough once you have the head around it.

        Cheers

have had a mess with settings and managed to get the blades FLAT(0?) but then the swash plate is almost at the bottom of the shaft and when i lift stick it just sends the blades back to negative?? as this heli is PRE-BUILT i will asume that the linkages are somewhere near i am really confused i think i will have to take it to a shop and have it set-up (I WANTED TO LEARN ALL THIS MY SELF FOR LATER REFERENCE AND TROUBLE SHOOTING) oh well..

I have a Twister 3D, it should not be a problem to set up, make sure the three servos are at 90 degrees at mid stick, if you can achieve this, then adjust the link rods to give you 0 pitch at mid stick, also note what setting you have for the end points, as the total servo movement can be adjusted on these.
You are right about the manual, for setting up it is absolute CRAP, my guess is that the manufacturers assume that if you buy one of these, you already know enough to set them up without a manual,
I took mine back to the shop where i bought it from, they checked it and test flew it for me, (an advantage of buying locally) before I went out on my own.
Good luck, but it may be worth chatting with the local shop anyway, especially if they are heli minded as well

The swash moves Down to add Pitch, (stick up) and the links are approx 32mm on my set up, I do not have a full 3D setup, and limit the servo movement, (not that advanced yet)

These are a right royal PIA to set up if you haven't had a lot of experience - if they're not set up right you can look forward to crash after crash and a 1:60 fly to rebuild ration You really would be very well advised to get someone who knows the beast to help. Yes the swash goes down while the pitch goes up. As Kwickkwack has said - take off all trim and subtrim, select the correct swash type for your radio, make sure your pitch curve is linear 0 to 100 - put the throttle to mid stick and make sure servo arms at right angles (if not use subtrim). The out of the box link lengths are NOWHERE near correct. Lengthen the servo to swash links, so the swash is mid travel. Adjust the swash to washout arms links so they are level. Adjust the mixer arms to blade grip links so the blades are at zero pitch.

Then radio setup: check aileron and elevator movements and see if they are the right direction, if not reverse servo on the radio - when this is right check to see if throttle up pulls the swash down and increases pitch - if this is the wrong way change the sign on the swash AFR setting on the elevator channel (2 for Futaba) eg +50 to -50. This should correct the direction. Then adjust your AFR% values so that you get about -12 to + 12 for full stick value. Then adjust your pitch curve to give you about -5 at bottom stick and +12 at top stick. Adjust your throttle curve (in normal mode) 0 45 55 65 100 or if 3 point 0 50 70 (with a brushless motor - use a linear curve with the brushed motor) to give you a less violent acceleration reponse around hover point

Get yourself some carbon blades - the stock ones are stuffed after a minor ground scrape as the film covering gets rooted. Put some training gear on and go real slow. Much better to get some help but if you can't hope my ramble helps.

PS I spent a frustrating 8 weeks on the 3D before I bought a TREX 600 - much easier to set up AND fly.
