  • Glow Plugs?

    Hi,

I am fairly new to this and have a few questions about glow plugs to ask.

    1. What voltage/current do you use to 'glow' a plug?
    2. How long does a plug last?
    3. Can you tell if it is on it's way out or is it a sudden death?
    4. I belive there are many different types of plug available - what is the rule of thumb for choosing a plug for an engine (i have an MDS 30 - don't laugh it was free!)?
    5. Is the thread the same size on all engines?
    6. Any preferences to reliable makes?

    Thanks for the help.
    Chris.

There are turbo plugs but I'm not sure if they have filtered up to helis yet but they use a different seating method and I'm sure the thread is different...

Nah, it's only the fact they have a tapered thread and no copper washer so you are out of luck

I like firepower plugs the black ones they seem to last better than another plugs I have used period!

although OS plugs are the ones I end up using no one has firepower round here for sale.

Errrrr..... it's the distance in a straight line from one end of the piece of string to the other.
