lol, well actually I use a PCM 9x2, but my dad has a FF7 which I have tried it on...seemed to work ok but I never tried it extensively!

perhaps you have to be lucky, who knows, but it should work.....you can mix and match everything else, so can see why not

          Woah
          Hang on a sec...
If by everything else, you're talking about servo's, gyro's governors, etc - sure - they can (almost) all be mixed and matched - i.e. plugged into pretty much any receiver. Some servos will not work in certain receivers, but outside of that, the rest should work fine.
But Transmitters and Receivers have a pretty exclusive deal (hence my suprise at this thread now).

My one and only attempt at making my FF7 work with a JR R700 receiver failed. It made contact, and made some things happen, but not right. Eg, the aileron would only work one way for me, no matter which way I pushed the aileron stick.

I'd love to hear results from more extensive testing
I rate that JR RS70 receiver and it'd be great to know for sure if it works on Futaba Transmitters.

          Cheers,

Rob, I was talking about Receivers and transmitters....

You can mix and match nearly ALL different types of receivers with different transmitters.....PPM of course, that wouldnt happen with PCM.

My dad has an old Sanwa transmitter which is about 15years old and it works fine with a recent Hitec receiver.....its all the same

I have mixed Txes and Rxes but not generally - but i dont think that there would be a particular problem with the exception of Rambos caveats...

I just don't use (trust) it on heli's.

dont forget that JR uses different channels on the receiver, perhaps there was a setting wrong??

also, did you have the timer activated by chance??? reason being, there was a fault with the FF7...if you turn the timer on it puts the ATV of one aileron to 0%, this is why a lot of people thought they had a servo problem.

The positive - negative shift issues that exist between Futaba and JR radio systems has usually meant they cannot be used interchangeably.
I have previously read of some people having success using Futaba receivers with JR radios, but not the other way around - and even that still baffles me (again, down to the shift issue).

Rambo, do you use a FF9 with this JR RS70 synth receiver?
                              Cheers,

The positive/negative shift thing is for US versions (and probably else where in the world too) but not the UK, for us PPM is PPM. As mentioned channel assignments differ somewhat though but its usually easy enough to sort out. I've used Hitec, Futaba, Jeti and JR receivers with my 2610 although I prefer the JR RS77S PCM synthesised receiver these days as its a good price too.
