  • Eventful first gallon!

Got to the field nice and early, it's really still and sunny - lovely

I decide I need to practice landing as I was landing with tail a bit low the other day. Get much more comfortable with that so I decide to have a go at some forward flight, going up and down the flight line. Found it difficult when you bring the heli round as orientation changes but just had to think a bit harder and soon found I was improving. Next few tanks much the same with a bit more side hovering. At this point I'm getting a feel for the way the heli handles and no so scared of it. I was having a ball actually!!!

Then I decide to go for some nose in . Got it up high and did nose in for at least 20 seconds, but then it brought the tail back and lost orientation. Basically I was too high. Things start getting interesting. I can't see where the heli is pointed and get a little acrobatic in a sort of downwards direction! Landed hardish but the right way up....

Broken skids, lost a blade, bent the flybar. Fuel tank pushed out a bit. Hopefully everything else is OK!

So my 3rd day actual and first gallon

    Tail in
    Side in left and right
    Nose in
    Forward flight
INVERTED - well on route to the ground anyway

Pi**ed off with myself for doing in nose in though.

    Richie,

Well done for getting that far. Try not to let it effect your next flying outing. Also need a few more tanks of the basic stuff to really get locked in.

See you there next time. Sorry I couldnt make it down this morning

    Cheers

Had 3 flights at DMHC with my T Rex 600,2 of which were with my new TP 5000 Extreme Lipo and i am well pleased with it

A tank thru my oldest Knight Sport which now also has a Spektrum Rx fitted so i was just giving it a shakedown to see all was well

Finally cracked full rolling circles, did 2 or 3 complete circles keeping the rolling going

Start with a half marathon first, that's how I tend to do stuff

Met up with nitrophobic Trev at Poling earlier and managed to get the new Knight out, the build is very similar to the Avant - and it flys like one too plus..... the ATG worked first time, how often does that happen? Reckon this model will go far.

Thanks for letting me know or were there loads there to ban me from flying for evermore?
