the small electrics are generally pretty painful. spares might be cheap but you crash more so the cost ends up being the same.

You arent far from a good club. the Alton club fly at ropley have you throught about a 30 or 50 nitro powered heli?

do a quick search lots of info of this.

also... get a sim, i'll let the others tell you which one :-)

I started with a Bell twister47, and now have a Twister 3D, A Raptor 30V2, and an Old Kalt Baron, and MOST DEFINATELY the Twister is the hardest to fly, as Ade says, get a 30 or 50 size heli, my Raptor is so much easier than the Twister, you will not believe the differeance.

Difficult as larger electric helis are not a cheap option really, Trex 600 is probably the cheapest but batteries will cost you at best £150 and up to £300 depending on what cells you go for. These batteries will give about 6 mins flight between charges.

Trex 600 or Swift are the main 2 electic choices.

Trex is stronger and better build quality and they are very nice machines.

check out the for sale section on the site I think there was one listed.

when discussing which is easier to fly, small lecky (like trex) or .30/.50 nitro, no doubt the nitro is easier to fly.
However there is another factor which is where you are flying and how often.
If you have a largish garden, or a nearby unofficial flying field then you can fly a 400/450 in your garden. This might well mean that you can fly a lot more often, like most summer evenings. Especially for the learning to hover stages.
If you are on your own, then you will crash it and fly it into things. The repair costs are small with something like a trex.
You must, of course, take care you don't endanger passers by and neighbours, and checking your setup with an experienced pilot is well worth it - and get the BMFA insurance of course.
It will take more flying hours to master a trex, but perhaps fewer months if you can have 20 fights a week rather than 5! At least for the hovering stages.
It does need to be a good quality heli to work at the 600-650 rotor dia size though!

There is a new .30 size lecky out, 3DX500 - a cut price hirobo Lepton.

                              Hi
Thanks for info. Already got ins one of first things i did.
Have seen what a danger they can be (in the wrong hands & mechanical , radio failure) Garden is 75ft x 150ft also got access to a big grain store + field. Can try to fly almost in any free time i have.
All i need now is something to do it with !!!

                              Thanks a again
