worried about my new lipo

i just bought my new lipo battery nothing speicial just a 7.4v one. it came with the wrong connector so i orderd the correct connector. the problem was when i cut the old connector off the battery. the battery began to get very hot this worried me so i put it in the garden have i done something very wrong here i am very confused

When you cut the old connector off did you cut thru both wires at the same time,
Id guess you have shorted your pack and would think its now scrap

Yes I guess you shorted it out - if it's not puffed out measure the voltage and if it's above 6V have a go at recharging it but do it in a saucepan so you can contain any spew and needless to say if it gets hot, starts puffing out stop immediately - if its puffed its history

i have found a voltage meter in the shed but i dont no what the dial should be on and which holes to plug the sticks into. im very confused on what im doing

all the battery's on ebay are from HK and take ages to be deliverd. and i find the jp battery expensive for what it is. the batery i just blew cost me £12 and it was 1000mah rather than 800mah

Inwoods are normaly hard to beat on price have a look there, Altho the price you payed is very good,
There was a company around a while ago called Maxpoly had the 800mah packs for just over 7 quid but they seem to have disapeared

just found this one on ebay but it has a very low c rating(8c) what does the c thing mean?

The C rating on a lipo is its capacity so if you have a lipo 800mah @ 10c it will deliver 8 amps without damaging the pack
When it says charge at 1c this mean you would charge it at 1 x capacity = 0.8 amps or 800mah

Im not sure how many amps a twister bell 47 pulls but id guess around 6 to 8 but some one may have measured it

C is the capacity of the cell - 8C means you can discharge it at 8 times its capacity ie an 800 mAh cell can discharge at 8 x 0.8 = 6.4A. 1C charging means you charge it at its capacity for 1 hour eg 0.8A in this case. An 8C cell should be fine for the Twister 47 or Medevac as they discharge at about 3A.
