  • Hello :)

    Hi there guys and ladies.

New to the forum and Helis.

Been reading loads on the forum, and thought it was about time i joined so i can see all the pictures. LOL.

Currently have a blade 400, totally stock at the moment apart from some carbon fibre goodies.

Have been flyiing planes for a few years (not sure if that is a swear word on here) and my god its a very steep learning curve!!

Still got the training gear on (of course) and already had a few crashes, but rebuilding is part of the fun!!!!

Mainly still concentrating on hovering etc, and cant even contemplate the posibility of ever being as good as some of the videos have seen.

Hoping to upgrade the servos soon but am not sure if that will cause other things to fail in the event of a crash instead!!!

    Any advice??

    Cheers

    Joe

Hi Mate and welcome to the Forum , I've put HiTec 65mg on my blade 400 i think for the money they are probably the best way to go . If you have had a few bumps and not stripped the gears out of the standard servos you have been pretty lucky . As for weakening anything else by fitting them i have had no problems with other stuff breaking because of the servo upgrade . Anyway good luck with it and there are always guys on here willing to help . I fly planks as well and quite a few others do to , some think its a bit of a swear word but there is a small section in the Forums list for Fixed wing . . Rob .

Thanks for the welcome (and advice), i think you are right in the way to go are the 65mg's, i have heard however that they take a bit of modding to fit??? I'm not adverse to doing this, but how hard is it??

Also is it worth putting one on the tail, or should i stick with the stock and have 3 spares?

I have stripped 1 servo, but it was litterally one tooth , luckily i had a gear set spare LOL.

        Cheers

          LOL, thanks.

It is all a bit daunting at the moment, some days i manage to go through both batteries no problems, then the next time ends up in a crash, and i have still to figure out why.

Still really just hovering and trying to get the thing to do what i want it to. LOL.

Looks sooo much easier on utube.

hi welcome to the forum I’m 13 and there is a few young uns on here if we can do it any one can
it seems hard it did to me at first but once you get yourself sorted and hovering stable you will be fine as for changing the servos this will not cause any thing else to go that would go anyway
Any questions just ask there will somebody here with the answer usually you get a reply within 5 minutes

                  Cheers Guys

I have posted some replies ut they seem to need moderating first when i quote people or something!!.

If i remember what i wrote, i asked something along the lines of fitting the 65mgs into the frame of the blade. Something i read says they are not a direct fit and some modding is needed. Is this particularly hard to do???

                  Cheers

                  Joe

Welcome to a great loving family Joe. I also have a Blade 400 stock apart from a pinked out canopy and fins. Hope to upgrade the gyro and tail servo for Align GP750 with ds520. Good luck with your flying and hope to maybe see you on phoenix sim if you decide to buy it.
