  • which one?

i cant decide on which helicopter to go for from these:

    walkera #39
    esky king
    esky cool

im not sure i want to spend upto a t-rex although they do look rather good. anyway i was gonna probably buy one of the above with a 2.4ghz cam mounted on it, so id like some fairly vibration free outside mild breeze capable flight. to my limited knowledge i would say the walkera #39 with belt drive rear rotor, brushless main motor and larger size would be the best, but ive heard some people on forums talk about walkera helicopters with less than flatering comments.

i had planned to buy the kit from here:

    http://www.hobbyjapan2000.com/store/...p?prod=DRAFL39

but of course id like peoples input on where and what to buy please.

if you want something cheap to learn to fly on then get the twister bell 47. Its easy to fly hard to crash and cheap.

      ok

i was looking for something i could do some acrobatics with once im used to hovering. im hoping i can use the 6ch set they provide with my PC computer and a sim before i actually try and fly.

If it's your first venture with helicopters I would forget about the camera idea for now. There a little harder to fly than you might think and the money used to fund a camera would be better used getting a better heli. Not trying to put you off but don't run before you can walk.

          All the best,

          Fury 55 FBL
          Trex 700

You have to crawl before you can run. If you're just learning to fly, you need to be totally confident with controlling the heli before considering aerobatics. That means that you must also be happy seeing the model in different attitudes.

As Ade has suggested, something like the twister bell47 will give teach you the basics and will also be light on the wallet. I don't want to put you off the 450 SE as it is a really nice model, but it is a top spec machine and will be expensive when, not if, you crash.
In contrast a 30 size ic model will cost you as much as a Trex, but will be a lot easier to handle.

Not completely related, but I have had dealings with RC-Expert and their customer support is not extremely good, but this is only based on my experience.

                Hi

The 30 refers to the class of glow powered engine that fits the Heli.

Classes are 30,50,60 and 90 with 30 being the smallest and 90 the largest.

There are also 4 stroke engines at 23cc and up referred to as 'gassers'which use unleaded petrol. Glow engines use glow fuel which is a mix of oil, methanol and nitomethane.

                Examples of 30 size include

Shuttle, Raptor 30, Century Hawk, Sceadu 30 etc

                Examples of 50 size include

Raptor 50, Sceadu 50 Evo, Knight 50 etc

                Hope this helps.

                Cheers

                  just found this one.

                  http://www.rc-expert.com/product-package.php?pid=101

i might try this as its really cheap and still seems to offer alot of the T-Rex style features.

                    ok found another kit here

this RTF Helicopter seems to have a better set of parts, but the gyro and servo seem a bit weak:
