  • Twister 3D cyclic probs

I've got to the bunny hop stage (which for me is exciting but finding the 3D very twitchy - part of the problem seems to be that the cyclic is changing with the collective - ie one of the servos on the aileron has a greater travel than the other so pitch changes producing cyclic changes. I have the Futaba 6RX Super with SWSH 3 set up for 120 plate and have tried changing SWSH ATV and channel ATV values without solving the problem - any ideas ?

are you sure its an 6rx super? not a 6exh?

the main problem a lot of people have with ccpm is often caused by 2 things. use of Sub trim and not having the arms on the servos in the right place.

the trick with CCPM is not to use any sub trim and have 100% on your end point adjustments.

then with the collective stick in the middle and pitch curves defaulted to 0,50,100 put the horns on the servos so they sit at 90degs to the pushrods.

once you have that, connect up your swash plate and adjust the links to give you a nice level swashplate.

    that should sort you out.

Thanks - I thought I'd done that but I'll go back to scratch and try again - in the ATV specs it states that Ch 1-4 have 40% range and 5-6 have 50% and as one 'aileron' servo is Ch 6 I wondered if this was the problem.

I always thought channel 6 was pitch, sounds like you may have your connections mixed up ?

The Tx is a T6Sh from the 6XH gear http://www.futabarc.com/manuals/6xas-hs-manual.pdf. In a 120 swash am I right in thinking there is no pitch channel as such (Ch6) as this is a programmed movement of all servos ?

With CCPM 120 Swash, channel 1-2 =Aileron and elevator, channel 6 is pitch, channel 3 is power, channel 4 = rudder, with my twister 3d with heli facing away from you, rear right servo goes to channel 6.

                Hi Ade
I have a question, when the collective is midstick, I cannot get the servo horns at 90 degrees to the pushrods, they are all slightly out, the only way I can see to adjust them is to use the sub trim,
I am usung a JR9PCMXII transmitter, with Sanwa receiver,
Am I doing something obvoiusly silly here.
Incidently this is on my Twister 3D
                Any help is always appreciated

unfortunately some micro servos dont allow you to turn the horn round to the next arm. On the good quality servos you can get the horns at 90.

In this case Using the sub trim is the only way, correct?

I binned the T-Rex not long ago and upon rebuild, try as I might, no amount of arm swapping could get the servos at a perfect 90 degrees without resorting to sub-trim.
Still, flys like a good un now though (just not today... )
                          Cheers, Lee.
