I'd get a sim myself, you then don't have to worry about crashing and with the current crop of sims about they are very life like. I wouldn't be without mine. If you should go this route make sure your PC has the minimum requirements tho & you will also need a radio with either Reflex or Phoenix.

    Synergy N5
    Fury 55 FBL
    Trex 700

Light travels faster than sound, this is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak....

They are both good learning tools, but the heli will only teach you basic stuff, the sim will take you all the way..

The newest sim is Phoenix and at £79.95 its a steal with all future updates freely available

it is a difficult one. Sim is the long term logical choice but sometimes you cant beat having the real thing infront of you.

          so, i'm voting bell47

I think I would go for the Bell47 too, as you will get some real stick time in with that. A sim is a great asset in learning to fly, but at the same time, its just not the same as actually flying a model.

            Cheers,
            Pete.

I would say Bell 47 because no matter how good a sim is, it is still on a computer not in front of you.
A sim is an essential learning tool but lets be honest how many people would really bother about crashing a sim, for the adrenalin rush it's the real thing every time but personally I would buy both, the new sim Phoenix is very reasonably priced.

                      I vote Bell 47.

Very stable little beasty and very strong.

Great fun and it gets you away from the computer which will always get my vote as I have to work with them all day.

                      Cheers

Had to go for bell 47, it isnt untill you realise how difficult it is to fly, you'll realise you need a sim as well, but you'll have the incentive on the shelf waiting.

                          Col.

Within a day or too you will be Ok ! Just don't fly the battery down so it is un flyable, it shortens the life, time the flight once till the tail can't be held then next time fly for 1 min less.
