OS 50 hyper engine in raptor

His heli used to be a rap 30 ugraded to 50 spec

you will also need the following:
New fan (its bigger)
Drive gears (main and pinion)
Longer tail shaft with the longer support rods
Tail drive belt
Main blades
Longer tail control linkages

Yes, there is one other thing to add to that list, a 50 size fuel tank

The important parts are the gear ratio (main gear and pinion) and the longer boom, boom supports, tail pushrod and blades.

Tail boom,Tail blades, Rotor blades, All 50 size Clutch is same on 50 as 30 so that should be ok it runs a heavy duty clutch fitted last week, what happens if you dont change pinnion drive gears

You must change both the main gear and the pinion, as they both affect the gear ratio.

A 30 size has a ratio of 9.3:1, which means that a head speed of 1850 will mean the engine is running at 17205rpm, which is fine for a 30.

A 50 size ratio on the other hand should be 8.5:1, which means at the same head speed of 1850rpm the engine will be doing 15725rpm, quite a bit lower than that of a 30.

If you put a 50 size engine in but left the ratio at 30 spec, you will end up either out of the power band screaming the engine or else with a very low head speed but with the engine running in its correct power band.

i think the V2 tank is the same for 30/50? its only the V1 tank that is different.

get the upgrade kit, its around 80ukp and gives you all the bits probably cheaper than buying all the bits seperately.

Inwood models sell the conversion kit for £71.99 + p+p.

If you call them, they will also replace the included wooden blades for other ones for the difference in price between the two.
