£20 to help me set up my T-Rex

      Hi guys

I spoke to the guy at my local model shop yesterday after work (who has been very helpful).
He told me the guys at the local club would want £20 to help me set up my T-Rex 450. Is this the norm I would have thought people would bend over backwards to gat a new member. If a noob on computers wants any help I always go out of my way to help. Must say I’m a little disappointed.

some clubs get over run with newbies. a charge helps to ensure the peson really wants it and not just a time waster.

I work part time. This frees up enough time to be able to help everybody that needs help and fly for myself too. This means i charge for my time to top up my income. But does ensure my customers get top level of service.

If you were planning to join that club, I'd expect them to set the model up for free. We set-up and test hover models at our club even if you're not a member. All that's required is BMFA.

Oh.. and yes, even the little ones are dangerous. I have two 5cm gashes in my knee caused by a combination of weather and pilot error.
