I know you're not a big fan of the electrics (Yet!! ) But I have put my name on the list for a T-Rex 600.

I looked at the cost of setting up a 50 size raptor with the same electrics as the T-Rex and it works out £100 less, but I just don't want the mess of more IC stuff (Neither does the missus )

Then again on a brushless motor there is virtually nothing to do at all, spot of oil on the bearings every now and again and that's about it. Yeah the bearings will fail in time but they get a lot easier life than inside a glo engine.

E Raptor will probably be available some time in October not sure I can wait that long for a heli IF I have an electric some of the video's of the t-rex 600 doing hard 3D are very impressive though...!!! any one going to the 3D master will get to see it in action with a master at the controls

Ade's right about battery costs, but if we take the example of £800 a year on fuel then you could buy five battery packs for that every year!!

assume thats 6s? thats gonna be pretty high current. flight times on that arent gonna be great.

800ukp is for magnum 30 too at 1 gallon a week which most will not do.

which is also about 400-500 flights. thats 80-100 cycles per pack which most batteries wont do.

and the first time you stick one in the ground hard there goes the advantage.

os 50 hyper is gonna be pretty tired after that many flights too tho but then thats only 150ukp :-)

Interestingly enough Noel and Trevor from Midland helicopters reckon you could get 6 to 8 Min's of hard 3D from the 4200Mah packs and they will do 200 cycles plus if you look after them and make sure they are balanced

Looks like Align have a new pack as well a 4400Mah 18c pack which is cheaper than the 4200Mah pack

and i dont thing you will be seeing 50 hyper power from 6s either.

Speaking to MartinM he say's the 600l stock motor in the T-Rex will run at 1500w on 6s from what I can see the Ringged OS Hyper runs at 1.9ps which equals 1400w. Martin also thought the RPM was roughly 24,000 on the motor as opposed to 20,000 on the Hyper.

I have a Video of Alan Szabo flying the T-Rex on 6s very hard 3D, and it looks every bit as capable as a 50 size IC.

The nitro boys at the club my wife and I have joined were impressed with the T-Rex 600 !! They still say I will own a Nitro by the new year !!

With the 600 and my Swift, 4 batts, two for each, 4 chargers I was set for the day !! Ok I had a few 12v ex computer UPS 42 amp batteries on the field (one for each charger) but I was holding my own when it came to flying time

trying to get something organised to do a proper comparison soon. on board data recording too so i cant BS as to which holds the headspeed better!

Hi all, I have only just started flying heli's, bought a Twister CP at the beginning of July and have taught myself to fly it without any help. Started with the training gear for the first few hops, then was able to get it hovering in a very short space of time. I thought it was the ideal way to start, cheap to buy and if I crash it will be cheap to repair. I was also surprised how stable it is even in a breeze.

The Twister 3D should be even more fun to fly, and at only &#163;129.99 to buy you couldn't go wrong.

Twister 3D is small breaks easy espically the servos and tail drive gear. They do fly very nice though. we have abbout 4 in the Club with Twister 3D's each one has broken either the drive gears or servos. But a good upgrade and cheap is buy some 6mm carbon rod and make your own main shafts. Although we fly them in 10mph winds says something for the
heli. oh and I just sold mine.....
