  • Remote glowplug lead - where to position

ok ok. another beginner type question:

I have bought a remote glowplug lead which I am having difficulty with positioning on my sceudu evo heli.

Is there a recommended position for the lead? Is there somewhere on the body that is designed to accomodate this lead?

    Cheers for your help

Ive got a raptor clarkee and I just bolted it to the frame using one of the engine mounting bolts.
Mine has a metal plate for mounting with doubles as the connection to the engine body and therefore glow body so job done for one of the electrical connections too.

It kinda depends on the style of your glow thingy as to how/where to mount it, but basically it doesnt matter as long as it works and is secure.

Providing you have both a feed to the plug and an earth to the body of the motor one way or another, it really doesnt matter where you physically mount the remote glow.

If it is one that has only one lead, it is assuming you will be bolting it to either the engine directly or more likely to the engine mount where it is bolted onto the plastic frames. If it isnt possible to mount the remote glow to either of these, then make up another lead with a round terminal on both ends, bolt one end to one of the four back plate bolts on the underside of the motor and the other to the remote glow mount, this will provide you with an earth and therefore complete the circuit.

      Cheers,
      Pete.

if its a single lead with a mounting tab off a dummy plug then bend the tag 90degs and mount on one of the engines back plate bolts.

I have found that the plug clips are pretty unreliable. Best to replace with a small insulated crocodile clip.
