Hi mate i have been to alpha model sports in penrith and tony is very good, £20 per hr will help set up heli too.
I live in whitehaven and carlisle model club fly heli's, thats off a guy called john from penrith runs a shop called johns models and hobby or summet like that. Been into his shop and he is very good.
Also look on ebay for a thing called m&m heli trainer i use this and its fantastic.
all the best Brian
Hi thanks for that Brainclator. Im in cockermouth.
so how often do u fly in carlisle. i would like to come and c what goes on. cos still not sure what the best move to do.
So thanks for ur reply if you could keep me informed. thanks
Hi i dont fly at carlisle as i just found out about it yesterday i fly at moresby parks and at the back of my house, well i say fly more sort of quick hover and put it down. But getting there slow but sure i fly a raptor 30 had 2 kyosho's a nexus and concept the raptor is miles better.
I see tony at penrith quite a bit so i can see if he can do a double lesson if you want i was going to book a 4 hr lesson for myself for next week or the week after, hoping i can get the thing to fly by the end of it.
i find that 2hrs in one go is about the limit for most people. After a while the brain just cant take any more in.

anybody can be an Arsehole, it takes real commitment, dedication and a whole lot of effort to be nice.
Well thanks for the offer but i dont think im even up to that stage yet not got any gear or any thing.
I am thinking of prurchasin a ff7 with the reflex thing to get me started. then ill look at gettin a heli.think its the raptor for me thou.
Any help and tips with the gear on whats good and not.
you need to get down the local club first, see what gear they are using in terms of make of radio.
ff7 is definitely the best cheap radio tho. If you can afford to step up to a futaba/JR 9 channel its worth it. they have a much nicer feel to them.
this is what i recomend for starting out.
engine. OS 37 or 50hyper
Gyro and tail servo 401 and 9254
collective pitch futaba 3152
3001 else where.
2000mah or more nicad battery.
you can buy cheaper gear but you will end up buying the above in the end anyway so save your money and buy right first time.
if budget allows its also worth starting on a 50, more stable and future proof. Cant go wrong with raptor/sceadu or knight. Love my knight tho.
