  • 1 Servo wont respond

Hi i have a raptor fitted with a irvine 36 engine. i'm using sanwa 6000 sport radio and servo's trouble i have is one servo just wont respond it turns and stays in position, now i have called my local shop who says this servo must be inhibited via the tx ????. but i have read the manual inside out and it mentions nowhere about this any help would be great as i'm dying to fly this heli but cant with this problem.
P.S i have tested the servo and it works fine in other slots on the rx.

    Hi
    briancleator
Going to need a little more info.
Which channel is the problem on is it rudder/tail - ?
If so are you using a Heading hold gyro.?
If you plug in another servo in the troubled channel does that servo behave in the same way.?
    Regards Dave
If it's not fun, your not doing it right !!

      Briancleator,

As Dave says, it would be really helpful if we had some more information on this problem, for example, what function is the servo on?

If it is the tail rotor control, I have a feeling the shop may have been refering to something called "Revolution mixing" this is something which was used a few years ago when the gyro's were less sofisticated than they are these days, so you needed to apply a varrying amount (Mix) of tail rotor control as the throttle increased to couter act the changing torque generated by increasing the power to the main rotor system.

Let us know some more about this problem and we will be able to help you further.

      Cheers,
      Pete.

My bet is that its the pitch servo and the tx needs to be set to helicopter mode before it will work.

where are you based Brian? Have you been to your local club yet?

            I fly a Sanwa RD8000 transmitter.

No1 slot is the elevator servo.

Make sure that the BASIC function is OFF (at the bottom of the etc menu) and check the following down the EL menu:

            1. the D/R fuction is set to 100% (or whatever it needs to be for your heli) in EVERY flight mode.
            2. the EXP function is set to 0% (or whatever it needs to be for your heli) in EVERY flight mode.
            3. the EPA function is set to +100% both up and down (or whatever it needs to be for your heli) and not +100% one way and 0% the other!
            4. the FAIL is inhibited if you're on a PPM.

The Sanwa can be a little confusing when you're setting up limits and curves in the different flight modes - catches me out all the time.

            Hope this helps.

              Rd 6000

Hi cheers for the info when i go into the etc menu and scroll down there is no basic on off mode. The servo will trim and reverse so i think it might be a problem with the stick on the radio system. ? i'm going up to the shop on monday to see what he can do with it as i purchased this off him built and set up ready to fly.

Thanks for all your help i will keep you all posted on the problem.

select a different model memory and reset that memory to default (there should be a reset somewhere in the menus)

If it still does it, try a different reciever.

if it still does it then its likely you have a fault with your transmitter.

A big thank you to all

Thank's for all your help with the rd6000 trouble, its now sorted and was down to the control being faulty now sorted and this is a great heli. compared to the concept vr46 i was trying to learn on and the nexus, Just goes to show you can struggle with second hand kit. the nexus has sort of been put back together after i tried to run it with sanwa tx and futaba rx full revs on its own, Just had to wait for it to self destruct which it did after catching its blades.
So any one wants to buy it with new mds 48 engine new boom new blades. Spare rotor head, skids, canopy, fly bar, swash plate,
Tx all servo's sanwa rx, gyro x2 and various other bits and bobs £60 + £10 postage
