which electric heli

Hi all
just looking into going down the route of a new electric heli, so if this has been covered before but which one would you all recommend. have approx £250 to spend but already have a futaba tx and rx.
also struggling to understand all the jargon etc of lipo batteries, i am presuming these are the best way to go but am struggling to work out which ones to use , which esc and charger etc ,

As a Learner I have found the JP Twister 3D a very nice Helicopter.
Its a bit on the light side so calm days needed. but very stable and easy to fly if set up well. I have no regrets on buying it, as Its good value and has cheap and easy to get spares. If you want one to throw around the sky then look at the Align TREX but thats gonna cost ya.

As for Batterys, I have 2 Flight Power Evo 20C Lipos 1500mah 3cell
they give between 10 n 15 mins each flight, and charger is a JP 2000 Pro
which is micro chip controlled and has done a great job so far. and take 1 hour to charge

I have a Tister CP v2 (one down from the twister 3D) which I really haven't got the hang of yet :-(

If you already have radio gear, then maybe something a little larger like a TREX or Zoom 400 would be a good bet ? There's usually some mad bargains on ebay and the parts cheap and freely available. Larger helis are also more stable and therefore easier to fly apparently.

I wish I had got a TREX-sized heli when I got my little twister.

Dave have you thought about a T-Rex XL. They cost about 179.00 and have motor and ESC included. They tend to be very sterdy build and flight wise and are belt driven. Hope this helps.

I have a Twister 3D, and whilst I am still learning, I think it is a good heli for the money, a litlle weak in minor crashes, but all in all, a good buy, and good fun. The Trex looks the part, and is definatley more substantial, but again more expensive. Most of these high performace helis use Li-Po batteries, and give good performance,
I think your choice will be down to your budget, so stretch it as far as you can.

The new Trex 600 looks like a blinding deal, the really small stuff is a pain.

Go for Size. The Swift from Century or the new Trex 600 is
very good as well.

As we all say join a club as well!!

noticed you have a twister 3d , what are they like anygood?
seen a deal , all in with brushless motor for £129.99 of with standard motor for £109 - are they ok to fly outside in ild wind?

No, none of the micro helis are great outside in any amount of wind, especially when learning

Okay Twister 3D... They can fly in winds if you can fly. If you cannot
you'll bend it and they do bend so well!!

It is a great little Heli but has a couple of weak points:

1. Tail drive shaft gear: you will break it

2. Servo gears will break FACT!

3. Main Shaft bends well needs to be solid really and we make our own
main shafts. they last a lot longer.

PLUS Side:

You can Bling it! (you can get metal swash/head etc)

It does fly well if you accept its weak points.

Its 129.99 for a reason but we have several members with them inc myself
and we can fly them in 7-10mph winds.

Personelly go BIGGER if its your 1st Heli.
