    600mm

the rest depends on the budget. basically the more you spend the better they are.

best value ones are probably the twll finish NHPs
    MS composites are dead cheap.
    SABs seem nice.

I personally fly Vs at the moment. Although I am going to get my hands on some radix to try.

        If your heli is a R50 V1 or V2, then 60's (600mm), or if it's a Titan, then you can use either 60's or 62's (600 or 620mm).

MS blades look nice but fly pretty crap, way too light, and are over priced for their construction quality, only thing inside them is the lead and fresh air !

In my opinion BBT's (Big Boys Toys) one of the best, and cheapest carbon blades you can get. They do 60's and 62's (one of the few who does !) in white or black, and can be obtained from Skylines or Midlands.

Apparently Radix blades are quite nice, but are like rocking horse sh1t at the moment.

There's a worldwide shortage of carbon fibre at the moment, so expect some shortages, hiking of prices and late delivery excuses

That shortage is due to the Airbus 380 apparently, dunno if thats correct or not

May have to revert to wood

Could always have a set of fibre glass composites!!

Had a set years ago which were great.

            Cannot remember the make though.

            Cheers

I'm pretty sure SAB still do a lot of glass fibre blades

You say the more you spend, the better they are. Sorry to sound ignorant, but just what difference doesmore expensive ones make? As an example, both my Sceadu and Freya came with the stock Hirobo glass blades, and I've never used anything else, but what sort of a difference might I expect to see if I were to spend a bundle of cash on some carbon ones?

manager, take a read of the radix blade thread. it gives some insight into the differences.

I really dont see why these people are using the A380 as an excuse for not having much carbon fibre around, after all it doesnt use 600mm blades, well not to my knowledge anyway!!

Blade selection is dependant on a few things, firstly what level of pilot you are, as if you are likely to crash through learning, then its probably not a good idea to invest lots of money in something like a set of V's. Secondly, if you are learning but need something better than the standard wood blades many models are shipped with, then look at something like the JP's or SAB's or MS's or BBT's to name but a few, all these blades are good and are reasonably priced, some more so than others. Thirdly, if you are progressing on to the more advanced 3d and want something that is going to give you the best feel in terms of cyclic and pitch responses, then is the time to look at the likes of the SAB's V's and radix's

If you just like to go out to the field and fly some nice circuits and maybe the odd loop or roll and stall turn, then spending out on top quality blades is probably not a cost effective thing to do, in that case I would stay with the mid range blades such as the JP's SAB's MS's and BBT's

So not only does it depend on the budget you have, but also the sort of flying you do and the skill level you are at.

                      Cheers,
                      Pete.

Did you not realise Pete, the A380 power plants are 4 os 91's with radix blades, hence the shortage They decided to give the old prop design another go !! . Sorry, this will be my last mumblings on the subject.
