  • why does it spin!!!?

well i'm finally managing to get the heli just off the ground but it constantly spins anti-clockwise. it will only stop if i give it full right rudder. But obviously full right rudder means i cant turn right then!

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers all

    check your gyro

im a beginner myself but your gyro might be running in reverse.

I see its a caliber 30 and you have a futaba skysport tx, what gyro do you have matched with which servo. Reversing the gyro will no-doubt be the cure.

its a futaba g154 gyro. i just dont understand why its needing full right rudder. i've tried reversing the gyro and it didnt make much difference. it's like the rudder is not effective enough...? can the angle on the blades be adjusted to be more effective?

Tail blade's with the servo in the centred position should have aprox 8 degree's of pitch on them, bearing in mind that if the leading edge of the tail blade moves left, the helicopter should turn its nose to the right.....

Check you main blade's direction of rotation, then think that the torque of the engine will be trying to turn the body of the helicopter the other way (so say the blades move clockwise the body wants to go anti clockwise). The pitch on the tail blades should be in the correct direction to stop this movement.

When the gyro sense's roation it will try to apply an opposing force through the tail blades by increasing / decreasing pitch on the tail blades to match. Check that your blades move the correct direction when the heli turns.

God hope that all make's sense and hope it is of some use,

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

          And a DX8 too
