Don't know much about the walkera, but have a look at www.trextuning.com". He does a comparision between the Trex and the Ark X400. They are both similar in design with the x400 having metal frames as opposed to plastic. I've just got one and and am pretty impressed with it.Ant

Depending on how serious the crash is, apart from the blades, it's an idea to stock a main shaft and feathering spindle. Any blade strike will guarantee a bent feathering spindle. The boom is the next thing that takes a hit especially with a heavy landing. However, most of these can be avoided by fitting training legs. These won't necessarily stop you crashing, but will prevent the model falling on its side and will absorb some of the shock from a hard landing.
I have heard and seen a couple throw tail blades. Apparently this was a desigh flaw and guys are fitting the TREX ones. I've also heard of the head and swashplate being weak, but the only models I saw this happen to were really being pushed.Ant

I can only speak from experience. I have recently bought a trex cde ccpm special offer at rcexpert. This little machine is the doggies danglers 3d's out the box (if you feel the need) and come with all the gear to get flying all you need do is add tx and rx.
Oh and before forget spares are readily available from a number of UK outlets with 1st class service and backup
