  • Dragonfly help pleasssseee.

    Hi all,

I have always had a keen interest in all things rc and have finally got a helicopeter. However I think I may have made a mistake as my experiences have been very disapointing so far. I got it from ebay a dragonfly.

Anyway I will not bore with dissapointments, but I do want to ask if anyone can help me with finding a battery that lasts longer than a couple of mins. I heard something about brushless motors and lithium powered batteries.

Where can I find such things?

    Hope you can help

Oh don't say that, it can't be that bad can it? I was going to buy one untill I done a bit of research. Te problem is its the only Helicopter I can afford to get into the hobby.

If you know a bit about electronics, Mapins (www.maplin.co.uk) is probably the answer. When I say a bit about electronics I mean about the motors part, and maybe the batterys, if they need modding.

I started with a Dragon fly,and purchased 2 more battery packs from e-bay,I found that by fitting heat sinks to both of the motors, and watching the charge times I was getting at least 10 mins out of each.as for the dragonfly you must remember it is what it is a cheap heli, and not
easy to fly, very flimsy & fragile, there I have to admitt I only kept mine for 6 weeks, before selling it and getting a T Rex 450x.best of luck

You can purchase them on ebay,or from one of the other mini-heli suppliers/spares stockists [in the UK],basically they fit over the motor and disperse the heat through the vanes, you can pick up a set for less than a fiver.
