  • Some Advice please 🙏 🙂

    Hi.☺

((I have read the rules about post wanted or for sale.))
    Hope this is aloud 🤔

So after many months of saving and scraping I've managed to save enough money for a new ish heli. .
After looking on Facebook and ebay I'm shocked to find 8/9 year old helis going way over what they should go for and its putting me off. Someone wanted £500 for a 450 V2 FB!!!! 😱
I know times are hard and we all could do with the extra cash 💸 but 200% on some helis is a joke 😡 OK rant over 😆

So my question is where newbie like myselfs supposed to get a 450 at a reasonable price 🤔

    Cheers 🍻

My view is that you should not pay more than 50% of the new retail price for second hand equipment. There are trustworthy sellers on this forum. I wouldn't buy from e bay or face book without going and looking at the items first.

    This just my personal opinion.

      Thank you for replying 😊
I'm not sure if its people not knowing what they are selling so guess the price. Then you have, my personal favourite. Greed!!
So many helis are so over priced, when you mentioned that its too much, the typical reply never used, or new. I mean that's fine if it was 8 years ago 😳 🤷 I was hoping for a 450L dominator but they are going for £400Up! I was almost about to give up, but I remember i had you guys on here😇

I agree that greed is a common feature. People also tend to think that their helicopter is better than any other so buyers will pay a premium price. It is a buyers market at the moment keep looking around and haggling as necessary and I am sure that you will get something decent before long. Have you looked on the BMFA website?

The last time I bought a 450 I paid £50. It was in a Tesco bag! It was the remains of two crashed models. I managed to put them together to create one. It is mainly a Pro V2. It is flying well now.

You might want to consider joining a club where the members have a lot of technical knowledge. A couple of my friends from MK Heli club live in Luton.

        Good luck.

No never through of looking on there, thanks 🙏
We are currently in between moving to Peterborough so it wouldn't be fair to join and when suddenly leave 😆

I do appreciate your advice 😊😇

2nded re the BMFA classifieds, they tend to be much more informed and hence realistic. Ebay is all over the map price-wise - stuff sometimes with crazy asking prices, that the seller will eventually realise is never gonna work. And then some things end up going very cheap because it's all about the timing of who is looking for what at a given time.

Plenty of bargains to be had on eBay but you need to know what you are looking for and be patient.

Yes that's very true. But I had bad experiences with ebay. I know you can get the money back, but its the process of proving and waiting 4 weeks before you can get the money back. Sellers are very sneaky and know the loop holes 🤔

I can't buy anything from here at the moment as I am restricted.
Yeah it makes me laugh looking at adds on ebay Title 500X Align! Then after looking at the pictures you realise its not a 500X only the align blades it has

I spotted the Graphite 60 too. Gave me a laugh, seller admits to buying it for £600 17 years ago and now when it’s hopelessly obsolete and no longer supported he expects £1000 for it
