I've accidently bought 470L Tail Blades. They are bigger but my main Blades are 360 so does that matter?
Trex 450L Dominator (flown six times crashed twice)
Blade 230s (my hard working trainer)
Blade CPS (for smashing into walls)
Blade SR HUEY (too scared to fly at the moment, the 230s is going to end up in here)
      Phoenix Sim

It depends how much bigger they are but there is risk that the main blades could clip the tail blades. Also it makes catching the tail blades on the ground more likely thus causing stripped tail drive gears, this is already a slight weak area in the Trex 450 so best not to make it worse. Personally I'd get the correct blades (didnt it come with tail blades?)

FWIW you can use the 470 skids on the 450, they give it a nose down tilt that lifts the tail up and makes tail blades hitting the ground less likely.

I did get the 470 skids. I bought new tail rotors because the ones on there look worn, like they have been scrapping the ground

The new ones only look marginally longer so they will probably be ok. The fact that the old ones have been rubbing on the ground illustrates the point I made earlier. The new skids will help.

Actually, they are also tight in the grips. I think i'll order some 450 ones
                Thanks!

The batteries arrived so i couldn't resist taking it to the park and having a little fly.
I went really well. Just one 6 min flight. It was solid and i was scared. I think i need to tame the pitch/throttle a bit but it hovered very well. (that's all i did)
                    Resetting learning curve!
                    Thanks for all the help!

The throttle curve want to be 'flat'.. The idea on a CP heli is to maintain constant headspeed, in fact it's better to use the governor. If it's too twitchy you can flatten the slope of the pitch curve a bit.

I'm going to use the settings from this.
It served me well on the Blade 230s. I think it's a good starting place. AGAIN!

                          CRASH!
I had a lovely 3 flights and then it all went wrong. bent main shaft, broken blades and broken swash connectors.
                          Ooops.

That's a shame sorry to hear that, but it's just part of the learning curve. If you have bent the main shaft and broken the main blades, then you will probably have bent the feathering shaft too, so check that as well.

Sorry to hear of the crash. You should be flying with the sun to your back if at all possible
