Blade MSRX upgrade

I'd recommend the Blade 130S BNF. In beginner mode, it self-levels if you let go of the sticks. In intermediate mode, you get a bit more control, and in advanced mode it can do all the flips and tricks. Being fairly small it can take a hit and isn't going to cost the earth - also it's not so big as to be too scary to advance your skills.

EDIT : Forgot to say, it even has a panic button if you lose orientation etc.

So there are few different helis on ebay and I'm torn between the blade 360 trio or a Trex 250?

Scrap that, think the oxy 3 is the best value for money. Anyone know what else I need to get with it if anything?

I'm a Lynx/Oxy rep, and I would say that unless you're practising regularly on the sim a full kit CP heli like the Oxy (or any other large CP heli) is likely to be an expensive mistake. Flying a CP helicopter is much, much more difficult than a fixed pitch, you've got a lot of skills to learn, and you're going to crash a lot.

The Blade nQX, 130S or 230S are your best options for the next step, and ideally pick up a sim too.

Bind and fly is fine for now, you'll pick up plenty of building skills as you crash anyway

PS. I just spotted your post where you're concerned about the wind. You don't need to go bigger to handle the wind, you just need a CP heli. Fixed pitch models are terrible in the wind, even the smallest quad or CP heli is just fine.

This was a couple of years ago, but it's my mCPX BL flying on an extremely windy day. Either the 130S or 230S would also handle this just as well:

+1. Don't skip a step here. At the very least get yourself an nQX, but ideally also a 130/230S. What I actually did was fly an nQX indoors all winter along with an MCPX in the garden and then I moved up to a 180 CFX while I was building my OXY for the following summer. All my crashing was done and dusted before I ever flew the OXY. I still fly all these helis over 2 years later except for the MCPX which I eventually sold (as it wasn't a good 3D trainer).

If you're simming then a 360/380mm size heli is definitely an option, but the 130S/230S would be an easier first step and would get you flying quicker.

There are a lot of details to building and setting up a CP heli, having to learn all that at the same time as learning to fly can be frustrating, it's definitely easier on the brain if you spread the learning out as you start

That will at least give you an idea of the difference between fp and cp helis. Once you are flying the Nano comfortably without self-levelling you should be ready to move onto a larger cp heli like the ones you have been looking at. OXY 3 is a great heli to get as a first kit build.
