  • My Triggers broom 230s

Evening all. Just a quick question if I may.
Got Blade 230 S that I've had for roughly a year now (time flies) and I think it's got a little problem. It's been there for a little while now and not sure if it's normal or not.
There's a flutter coming from the tail motor. It flies fine but if I have it hovering steady with no breeze about 12 ft up there's a flutter from the tail. It's only slight but you can see and hear it. It's the had quite a hard life but it's always had what it's needed when required. So other than the flutter it looks and flies perfect. Also the tail motor gets a fair bit warmer than the main (although that could be normal?). Answers on a postcard please :-)

Sounds like the tail gain could be a little off, but I don't know if you can tune that on the 230S.

It could also be some damage or warping on the tail blades, a replacement set is cheap enough that it would definitely be worth throwing a new set of tail blades on there to see if it makes a difference.

      Thanks for your reply.
There isn't tail gain on the radio unit, just trim.
I still regard myself as a novice so happy to stay that way for now.
I'll probably upgrade to a DX6 next year if I upgrade to a newer helicopter (that's the plan anyway).
I've got a few brand new tail blades so I'll give that a try and report back.

      Cheers
