  • Vbar gyro help

Hi, I have been trying to resurrect a very old 450 bitsa helicopter and some one gave me a koala Kbar.
A chinese clone I think, anyway I can not get the gyro to switch from HH to rate mode. Do these have to be
set with bank switching on this flybarless system or being an old fart am I doing it wrong I have 67 in gyro switch position 0
-6.5 in pos1 and 0 in pos 2 but it remains in HH mode. The tail goes l and r on the sticks and also when you move the helicopter
but it never jumps to the centre when switching between the different values. The tx by the way is dx8 and I can see the values changing in monitor function.
What i'm asking is is this a throw away or can it be made to work. Thanks

I have a yellow K BAR and mine only has heading hold. I'm using a DX8 too but changing the gyro gains in the tx to negative numbers does not switch my K bar into rate mode.

Hi, I am honestly not sure if it has a rate mode but you should not need it.

I have setup a lots of vbar before also on my 450 and have never used it, or needed it. In the setup on the tail section it will act like its in rate mode. After each input the tail will go back to center. As long as the servo at 90° (or as close to as possible) and the crank at the tail in 90° you will be fine.

As Gixerman shows, it does have a rate mode option. You can switch between rate and HH from the Tx by using Bank switching.
