    Hey,

I got my hands on a 'Honey Bee King 2 Carbon Edition' (not the best for a beginner I no) a while ago. It came with simulator software and I have been practicing with it for 10-20 mins most days since I got it.

However, the other day I decided to try the helicopter. It was going well for about an hour until I hit a hose pipe real with the main blade. I looked at it and saw I had bent the 'blade clamps' and the fly bar.

The clamps seem cheap (£10) and easy to replace.

    What I want to know is;

Would I need new blades? I have checked them and there is no damage at all, but I want to make sure just in case they break mid flight.

And, where can I get the silver/chrome things you attach the paddles to the fly bar? I’ve broken them trying to get them off.

    Many Thanks!

Pepsi, Hi. Always bin blades if they've had a knock. It's a pain but see them as expendable items and you'll always be sure you're safe.

Have a look about online for places that sell the HBK and I'm sure you'll find the parts no problem. Make sure as well that if the flybar and blade grips are bent that you check the main and feathering shafts, there's a good chance these will be bent too!

    Welcome to the forum,

Check the linkage rods, make sure there's no splitage on the plastic bearing grips, also check the servos, just place your finger on the servo horns and move the Cyclic arm in all directions plus the throttle, if they move nice and smoothly your OK, if they feel a little rough in places you might have broken a gear tooth.

Again replace if one is a little suspect, as that alone can down your heli next time.

I'd say for sure the Feathering Shaft is mullered, and if so your need two Hex tools the same size to unscrew them from inside the blade grips, also make sure you use a little thread lock on the end of each Feathering shaft screw when you rebuild it after replacing the bent shaft.

Not that I disagree with Andy, thats good advise about the blades, however my 325's have had two Grass ground hits, one bollocked the F/shaft, and the second bust a blade grip ball link grip, but apart from a few minor nicks on the outer edge there perfectly fine.

I did check them over once off the heli, by flexing them from both ends to check for minor splits withing the blades but there solid, and perfectly fine for flight.

But take he's advise, as I can't comment on HBK2 blades, and for the sake of a tenner if your unsure replace with new.

Thanks for all your help guys,

Main shaft, feathering shafts and servos look and feel fine.

Would it be worth buying the cheeper plastics blades for now instead of the carbon ones?

Can anyone tell me what the silver/chrome things are called?

Thanks, if i get really stuck ill drop you a PM.

OK, glad u said that, it was the difference between £10 and £25.

They attatch the paddles to the fly bar.

                Thanks for the help

IIRC, you can quickly check the feathering shaft without removing it.

Certainly on a HoneyBee CP2, it can be rotated by rotating either of the hex head bolts referred to above.

When it rotates, the grips should stay aligned. In my case, one made a circular waggling motion - because I had a bent feathering shaft.

This was quite a surprise to me...
