Cheers for the info and link Tom much appreciated.

I am looking for an indoor micro cp heli to practice on over winter as just getting back into flying again, can hover and do lazy eights so just looking to put some practise in over the winter as have no PC at home just iPads so a sim is out at the moment.

Presuming the 180/230 are too big for indoors and only got access to a medium sized garden currently so I don' t know if this is adequate space to fly in safely.

So for now it's between the mcpx bl and the nano cps, leaning towards the mcpx bl at the moment as no stock of the cps presently as a bnf.

    Cheers Malc.

Yes the 180 and 230 are way too big for the house (presuming that's what you mean by indoor, rather than sports hall) and even for your garden you would be limited to hovering and very slow flight. Maybe the 230 is a bit more sedate, but the 180 is a really fast little heli and needs space to fly in. I think you may also find the mcpx BL a bit much for indoor too, but it is possible. It would be fine in the garden though for what you are talking about. The nano CP-S would be your best choice for the house and probably garden too.

But I'm going to suggest another option that I found to be the best for house and garden. The nano QX quad. Yes it's a quad, but in agility mode it flies exactly like a cp heli and is just brilliant for practicing fast 8's and circuits in almost any space. It flies rings around my mCPX V2 in the living room and it's probably better in the garden too, but doesn't handle the wind as well as the mCPX.

The mCPX BL is really an outdoor model, it's fine in a garden, but way too powerful (and dangerous) for indoor use. I used to happily 3D mine in the garden, it'd do circuits, funnels, piro travel, rainbows, the lot. Just hovering it indoors was downright scary.

If you're looking for something to practice indoors I'd say the pick of the bunch are either the nQX or the nCP S. If you want to learn inverted or 3D flight go for the nCP S, if you just want to work on your upright flight and orientations the nQX would be just fine. It's a quad, but handles well enough to be a valid trainer (Peteski started on a nQX and is happily flying a whole bunch of stuff now), and it's small and precise enough to be great indoors.

The nQX is easily good enough to learn all your hovering orientations, all circuits, all figure 8's. And that includes forwards, backwards and sideways flight if you like. A winter practising all that and you could happily pick up a larger CP model for outdoor flight in the spring :-)

Agree with the above. The 180CFX and 230S are not indoor models. In fact I struggle to fly my 180CFX (beyond very simple stuff) in my garden. It eats up the space in the sky quite quickly! It's also really powerful.

So if by indoor you mean in a house as opposed to a sports hall or local community hall then even an mcpx/BL is too big/powerful.

For in-the-home CP practice, only the nanoCPX/CPS is a realistic option IMHO. The old mCPX v2 was possible too, but the BL variant is a different beast in my view.

Yes it is for flying inside the house and hopefully on a calm day in the garden, so will wait and get the nano cps when it becomes available.

            Thanks for your suggestions.

Santa's been and left me a nano cps, so now just need a cable to connect the standard e flite batteries to my revo gt charger.

Im presuming that I need a parallel lead of some description as I need to simultaneously charge 6 batteries, can anyone please point me in the right direction as would like to order the lead and more batteries whilst sales still on.

Hi “smw5767”, I have seen a cool eSky 150 Mini Helicopter Esky 150 4Ch Mini Flybarless Remote Control Helicopter - RTF . It has a unique removable flybar that can be used by beginners for added stability while learning and then when comfortable just remove the flybar for the increased performance and agility. And with eSky you know you can't go wrong and its priced very low.
