  • Tail rotor failure - I think!

Still learning the basics with my Raptor 30. Can now hover, move backwards and forwards, sidways etc. However, I was out last night, quite a calm evening, everything was going well until suddenly, it appeared that the tail rotor had totally failed! Started spinning. Fortunately, I was only about a foot off the floor so managed to set it down without any problems. When I looked at it, it seemed as though the tail rotor servo just wasn't responding until I got to near full deflection on the stick - whcih was strange as all the other were working ok.

So, I got it back home ,tried it on the bench and everything was ok again - weird! Could it be a dodgy servo - any other suggestions?

It sounds like the servo has failed, or is about to.
What servo is it, and whay gyro is driving it?

    Cheers,

Check the wires / connections. Could be a loose plug into the Rx or gyro.

Look for chafing or vibration damage to the leads.

Turn the servo over by hand - no electrics on - are there any missing teeth.?

      Just thoughts.
