Okay.
The choice is mine....
I naturally started all thumbs and no strap. I'll give the other way a go to see how it feels.
Thank you all for your input.

I have found you definitely need a strap. Just in case it slips out of your grasp if nothing else. I have had wasps and insects fly into my ear and you instinctively swat them away. if you dropped the TX with a big size heli flying about the results could be disastrous.
It is a matter of taste - i find thumbs on top and index finders in front of the sticks most comfortable the moment.
A few guys in our club have used the mounting brackets available for an FPV screen for offsetting the COG of the TX which seems like a good idea as the TYX lays more horizontal. And then there's trays to rest your hands on and all sorts of stuff to make it more comfortable.

I use the pinch method.Originally posted by Euclid View PostI'm a thumb man and I've only just realised that at all times my right index finger is hovering over the throttle hold switch. With thumb and forefinger on the sticks time to hit TH would take at least a millisecond longer!
For throttle hold I use the finger next to my little finger (whatever the medical name might be lol.)
So many variations, but whatever suits the pilot is the correct one.Heli's: Trex 700 - os gt15hz : Goblin 380 & MSH Brain - Trex 450 Ikon : Blade 550x & 180cfx

Well this is interesting, I'm using thumbs at the moment, but and don't laugh, I've got small thumbs and when doing some menouvers, when I do tictocs I tend to roll or get out of shape quick as I recon I'm pulling the sticks as only got a short reach.Well this is my theory, I've tried shortening the sticks, but still happens, so I'm thinking about trying the pinch method, to see if it helips or if it's just me being a sh#t heli flyer?????Align trex 700x brain 2 BT
SAB Goblin 700 KSE Brain 2 BT
Trex 600 ESP brain 2
and one helicopter mad son, who drives me bonkers wanting to watch, fly and go to the field
Spektrum DX9.......and you can say what you like to the EX Mrs, we split up, so she can #%$€ her self!!!
