There doesn't seem to be any other indications on the box, nor on the paperwork inside nor on the heli itself.
When you plug in the interface cable to the FBL/Rx unit you get the unit's current s/w version and also the unit's serial number/code which you use to register your product and which enables you to download (and then install) any/the latest software/firmware.
The latest software that I installed (Version 4.23) was made available to download on the 4th Nov 2015. I don't know if they were loading that to production units before then. If they were, I doubt that it would have been much earlier.
Thanks for looking into it further. Sounds like I might as well buy the cable anyway, for future updates.

Someone did suggest getting the RTF version because apparently the stock radio is better than many stock radio's you often get. The only thing is, even after a year im still learning abut my Dx6i and would like to bind another model to it, after all that is why I brought a dedicated radio in the first place.

Hi 3dx. At least im in good company here for when I get mine, should I run into problems
Looking at the models you already fly, it's interesting that you have purchased the 230s.

Something to fly in my garden really and also as a winter heli !.. I'm more a sport flyer who dabbles in 3d- just cracked funnels after nearly 2 yrs and I can do a sort of recognizable piro flip ....
