    Hello guys
Any body got a the new 230S and any feed back on it.
Am learning on a 130x and 200srx but thats up a tree.
So my question to replace the 200 or go for 230s.
200 is so nice to learn to fly with and slow enough to respond part from trees jumping out.
130x is like a wasp on serolds.
    Thanks in advance.

I haven't got one, but after watching Stefan Finster's vids, I'm tempted to get one to see what it's like. Certainly it looks capable although that tail motor makes it sound hilarious IMO

Kyle (RC-hero) seems to have the cheapest price : Blade 230S BNF [BLH1580UK]
(although I notice he was showing stock earlier, but not anymore so I guess he's sold out?)

I'd go for the 230S as it's CP, I think it's well worth the extra £30 over the 200.
With SAFE it will be easier to fly than your 130X and probably just as easy as your 200. Just keep it away from trees

I'm sorry but that noise would put me right off. It sounds like someone is swinging a cat around by it's tail.

            Hello
M8 yes am going to get and get rid of the 3 x 130x.
Stick with the 230s and the 500 ,450
            Thanks for your help.
The 200 was nice to fly so the 230 should be better.

Does anyone know if 230s's are now being sold without all the issues that have kept them grounded?
I've been holding off for ages now while I read all the horror stories about faulty swashes and electronic issues etc.
I want to buy one and hook it up to my Dx6i and get going, but I've read nothing good about it on here yet. As much as I like my MSRX, after more than a year of use the 230s looked like the next step.

I think they are now sorted. There was a software update regarding this 230s.Still got mine but not updated yet but it should not be a problem with flying with it.
Little steps still flying the 200 which I trow around with not a problem just need to do the same with the 230s.
                Hope this helps.

You will need the usb interface cable.... Transmitter/Receiver Programming Cable: USB Interface | HorizonHobby to perform the firmware update if the one you buy hasn't got the latest firmware...trouble is you need the cable to find out what firmware version you have!!!!! (unless you can get your local hobby shop or supplier to check/update it for you).
If you have a Blade CFX180, it is the same cable used to update the firmware on that heli.
I have done the update on my 230S and the heli works fine.
You just need to be a little bit careful lifting off when/if you are in "Normal" (SAFE) mode (to avoid any tip overs on ground). As soon as it is airborne it is solid.

Thanks for the info. I wonder if it's possible for the seller to know if the 230s has the update without unboxing, perhaps by some kind of date of production indication on the box.

There is a bar code (with 12associated numbers) and the heli Part Number BLH1580UK on a small label on the box which my 230 S came in......but I have no idea how to interpret that number or what it is (serial number, batch number, date ?????).
There doesn't seem to be any other indications on the box, nor on the paperwork inside nor on the heli itself.
When you plug in the interface cable to the FBL/Rx unit you get the unit's current s/w version and also the unit's serial number/code which you use to register your product and which enables you to download (and then install) any/the latest software/firmware.
The latest software that I installed (Version 4.23) was made available to download on the 4th Nov 2015. I don't know if they were loading that to production units before then. If they were, I doubt that it would have been much earlier.

Well, got mine yesterday and after a quick setup on my dx9- just powered up straight and no probs- tail will need getting used to as it sounds very winny, mine must have the new s/ware as I didn't experience any swash tilting, got 2 flights with it before it got too dark to fly, nice responsive feel but feels wooden on book settings- will try the bailout feature on w/end and see if its any good ! .
