Can someone please help me I have at trex 500 which I bought second hand. I have tried to set the head up with my spektrum dx7 transmitter. I have used a set up posted on you tube and have levelled everything off including the swash plate and all the links. When it came to setting the pitch mine reads -6.5 and +6.8. My problem is how do i get the pitch to ten or 11.What is the best way of achieving this as the top links holding the blades are non adjustable.

Is it a flybarred head or flybarless? If it has a flybar then you'll be setting the swash as 120 degree CCPM and you have three settings, ail, elev and pitch. If FBL then the pitch will be controlled by the travel adjust in the TX and / or a pitch range setting in the FBL unit. Generally you'd start with the travel ranges in the TX at 100.Kasama, Minicopter, Henseleit, JR, Shape, Beam

What are the servo travels set at? On the original version DX7 the travels go to 150, on the later ones they go to 100. If your links going to the swash from the servos are pretty much vertical then you should have no trouble getting +/- 10 degrees. I have a Trex 500 that was originally flybarred and the old style DX7 and could easily get 10 degrees or more, no problem. You also need to have the pitch curve set so it has zero at the bottom and 100% at the top, there are four pitch curves: normal, st-1, st-2 and hold. If you started with a blank model those curves should be straight lines from zero to 100 by default.
So basically there are three areas in the TX that control the pitch range: The swash setup (which you already said is at 100 for pitch), the servo travel adjusts and the different flight mode pitch curves.Kasama, Minicopter, Henseleit, JR, Shape, Beam

That would definitely cause everything to be off-kilter. Start with a linear pitch curve, 0 to 100 with 50 at mid-stick and zero sub-trim. You'll need to move where the servo arms are on the servo shafts so that they're level at the proper mid-stick, zero pitch point. Then you should be on the right track.Originally posted by ansmann1 View Postthanks i think it looks like the pitch curve in normal mode it was set to 64 72 82 90 and 100. loks like ill have to set up transmitter with new model and then redo the complete head setKasama, Minicopter, Henseleit, JR, Shape, Beam
