Hello guys
Need some info on charging 2 & 3 cell lipo on PL6.I have a MPA board(if that helps) can I charge through the balance leads on the battery or do I need to connect the battery lead aswel or do they make a lead for this charger and if possible a link to it please.Thanks in advance.

You can't charge through the balance leads. What batteries exactly do you have?

I have nano tech 450ma 7.4V EFLB3002S3S 3 cell
Comes with 3 cell balance lead and a red, black charge lead.
When I charge them on my old charger I use a red and black charge lead then splits into 5 charge leades.but no 5 way balance lead.
?????

No, as Tom says both main discharge leads and balance connectors have to be used, the PL8 allows you to but not the 6

I've made up many leads to go from deans to whatever I'm using but there is deans to ec5's & deans to xt60's available from some hobby shops , there may be others available, you can also use the mpa board to ballance & then buy separate charge leads to suite what your using , the deans part of the board is not connected to the ballance side at all & is only held on with screws , so separate charge lead is not a problem

180cfx batteries? Depends on the connector, but if you're describing JST, like the 180cfx uses ....

Hey all.

Dean's having a PSU from me to power this and as an iCharger user I couldn't answer this question for him, so thanks for helping.

Just an idea, but to use the MPA board could he not create some adaptors that connect one of the on-board Deans connector to the outer pins on his 2s or 3s LiPo's via a spare balance port on the MPA?
I've modded one of my balance boards to do this for my T150 packs if need be that I can photo.

Or, how about something like this with a Deans connector rather than bullets?

This would plug into the MPA but then provide the PL6 with the right voltage signals where it needs to see them to charge.

For my 180 CFX batteries I use a HK XT60 paraboard with XT60-JST adaptor leads. Works a treat.

A lead like that would work - I'm pretty sure I used that exact lead to charge batteries for my 130X using a PL6 (I say pretty sure as I can't recall 100% - I did used to have an iCharger but changed to a PL6).
