After a few years break, just getting my blade MCx back in the air to bring my mind back to orientation etc. but also thinking of a blade nano qx or hubsan x4. Seems a difference in price so which flys best and has good spares?

Both fly well, but the nQX can be used with a proper Transmitter and so a much better long term prospect. I've been using mine with a DX8 and it's brilliant in agility mode.SAB Goblin 380 KSE - latest love thang
Lynx OXY 3 - my mini flagship!
Blade 180 CFX - field beater for new moves
Blade Red Bull BO-105 CB 130 X - scale fun flying at the field when the tail isn't broken, which is not often.
Blade mCPX - sold
Blade Nano QX - house fly of choice
Blade mCX2 - retired but will be back when the kids get a bit bigger
Spektrum DX8 - for everything
neXt sim - the sim I started out with
Heli-X sim - my new favourite sim!

The Hubsan X4 is a good little quadcopter, I bought a pair of them for my kids, but I think as a trainer the nQX is a better quality machine. The different modes makes it, by all accounts it's a lively little thing in agility mode which is ideal for practicing orientations for CP flying.Helis: Oxy 2 FE / Oxy 2 Sport / Protos 380 / Oxy 4 Max / Gaui X3 380mm
Electronics: Spartan VX1e / Spartan VX1n / Spartan VX1p / MSH Brain2 mini / Jeti DS-14
Sims: Realflight / AccuRC / Phoenix RC (Wireless) | AccuRC (Wireless) | Realflight (Wireless)

As other's have said. NanoQX will bind to a proper TX - for that reason alone, it's a better option IMO.Tom

It certainly is! I learnt all my upright orientations with the nQX and also banked turns, circuits, figure 8s, stall turns, moving piros and backward flight. Basically everything except inverted flying * and all in the comfort of my lounge and bedroom! Everything I learnt with it translated perfectly to cp helis too, which was my main reason for buying it.Originally posted by myxiplx View Postby all accounts it's a lively little thing in agility mode which is ideal for practicing orientations for CP flying.
* There's a 3D version of the nQX available now, which I would look into if I was starting now.SAB Goblin 380 KSE - latest love thang
