How much actual heli flying have you done ?
I tried that and got no help, this is my first Heli

Hi there welcome to the forum! You are very near to some great clubs particularly MK helicopter club with many very helpful members on here. I don't know which club you tried and found unhelpful but if you check out MK you will find helpful encouragement all the way from beginner to expert!
I must add I am not a member at MK but I know many who are and you could not meet many other more helpful people in this hobby! Well worth a visit to save you from costly and off putting initial disaster😉

You our could also try our club CMHC however it is about an hour from you!

Hope you get sorted soon, happy landings.

Got to agree with everyone - you've not chosen the most obvious first heli! Do try contacting MK heli club - I'm sure somebody there will help sort you out. You may want to consider a more beginner friendly heli though - probably a four-channel, fixed pitch micro.

If you haven't found it already - take a look around John Salt's website - there's loads of info there for beginners!

Thanks everyone for your input, I have changed the Aileron in the swash mix to - 60 and everything is now moving in the right directions.

                  Here's a link to the manual: http://notices.patrickmodelisme.com/...r_E_manual.pdf

I think the only thing slightly unusual about it is the 90 degree swash setup. Otherwise it's basically the same rotorhead as the Raptor 30/50.

I'd also recommend the club route but I know for sure from personal experience that if you are a proficient fixed wing flyer (one who knows how to use the rudder properly among other things) then it's not so bad to learn to fly a heli. That's what i did and it was a reasonably pain free /crash free process. Big helis are a lot easier to fly than small ones, so starting big certainly has it's advantages. The downsides however are that crashes will be costly, and big helis are potentially very dangerous.

As long as you are aware of the risks it is 'doable' solo, but the club is still the lowest risk option.

You will be welcome at MK club. I won't be able to give you much technical help but there are members who can. If it works all right and you want to fly as a guest, bring proof of insurance.

Hi Andy, glad to hear you are finally getting there with your set up, also just make sure the tail is set up correctly as I have seen a few make the mistake of trying to fly the heli by the tail instead of the nose.
Looks like Trillian has posted you a link to the manual, read through it as it will most likely have a section on motor set up and pitch curves.
Pitch curve is important when you are learning, if you have too much negative then the heli will slam into the ground in moments of panic when you lower the collctive stick.
Club route is still best option. Or if you are serious about heli flying, a sim is also good to learn the basics on.
Also for safety set up a switch for throttle hold, it is better if the location of the switch on your Tx is easy to get to while flying. In the off position this will ensure the blades don't spool up when you plug the batts in and in case of an imminent crash you can flick it to off and it may save maingear and a few other bits. Practice using the switch until it becomes an automatic reaction as it will save you quids in the long run.
I assume you fly mode 2, reason is that the majority of heli pilots use mode 2 Tx's so would not be of much help if you fly mode 1.
Also there are lots of help vids out there regarding heli set up, bloke called Finless Bob on another heli site/forum did loads and they are worth a look.

Too many helis and planks, well that's what she says.

Reverse pitch in the Tx and make sure everything else works as it should. My 2 penneth
