  • Esky belt cp ESC problems

    Hi

I am new to heli flying and have had a belt cp for 2 weeks (what fun), i think the ESC is going as the power keeps cutting out mid air and the ESC is getting so hot even after 3-4 mins of hovering (still learning).

I have been looking at the SP30A-BEC-AIR BRUSHLESS S/CONTROLLER from mugi.co.uk, has anyone got one of these or can anyone advise of a good ESC for the belt cp for around £30.

Also on the attached picture can anybody tell me what is the round thing covered in rubber?, as all ESC does not seem to have this?.

    Thanks

Its a ferrite core, acts to reduce any interferance from the ESC being fed back to the receiver. The capacitor in there isn't as common, but I'd guess, would be the same thing, stabilising the rx/servo supply voltage.

Ferrites are pence, you'd just wrap any slack you had in the rx-ESC wires through one and cable tie it in place somewhere on the heli.

Capacitor debatable as to how effective it might be. That would require soldering if you wanted to use one.
