Align GP 750/Trex 500

I recently bought Trex 500esp flybarred with GP750 gyro. Heli had blade strike but was a cheap way to get back into the hobby after several years away. Any way carried out the mechanical repairs etc., My problem is the Gyro, on power up Status led constant red and does not initialize, Go through set ups , always back to constant red, checked connections, tried re binding, will not initialize. The question is, Is it knackered? Or am i missing something? Thanks

Check your gains are correct and over 50...it may not be in HH...

Yes thanks for the suggestion, should have said gains 70 75, been trying all morning just will not initialise.

Long time since I set one up but is red for anolog servo & green digital servo...?

Thanks for your reply, that would be right in setting table, problem is status led goes straight to constant red on power up instead of initializing and turning green giving standard band and allowing further settings. Thanks

Thats wonderfully kind of you thanks, but i kinda decided that if i could,nt get an answer one way or another (knackered or something else) i will buy a cheapy HK401 to confirm one way or another, cant hurt to have about! Hopefully someone on here will be able to advise me.Once again thanks for the offer, really nice of you.

If you can get one, get another GP750 rather than an HK401. I like the GP, it's a cracking little unit, and still have one on my (now nearly-vintage) TREX 700N. Try a 'wanted' ad here - you'll probably be inundtaed with offers, definately a buyer's market.

If i new for certain my GP750 was finished i would probably buy another, i was only going to get hk401 as a cheap method of finding out, thanks

Chap i know has used the HK401 for number of years now on his 500 & for what I've seen looks rock solid on the tail so you just want to keep it on there.

Gone ahead and ordered HK gyro , thanks for all the help, will add result when i have one.

red just means your set up for 500 size or smaller, green is 550 to 700. If your able to set the gyro up correctly on everything else then it's fine, your just missing that bit, but don't worry as it's ready to fly & enjoy already.

Just re read it's not initializing at all. oh and afaik your rudder limit in your tx should be at 150% for set up but then i maybe talking out of my arse?
