  • No! crashed it!

Was working in Boston today saw a nice big park and run 2 battery packs with no problem, thought I would sneak in a pack on the way home, got to cocky doing high speed bombing runs and hit the deck! My fault! Time to order a blade holder, tail and main chassis!

after a successful day of flying we should pack up and go home. Its fatal to even think/say "one more go" never mind doing it

And some people actually really do believe it, but I'm not one for superstitious mumbo jumbo. Just to prove a point I make a point of saying 'just one more flight' at the end of almost every flying session, and then flying that last flight. I've been flying many years and cant recall the last time that 'last flight' ended in a crash.

Well, Grumpy, this is coming from a man who said he'd "never had a bad crash with a heli". Go figure.

I often stack it on the last flight, just because I push it as hard as I can. Moral of the story is to use a cheap basher (i.e. 450!) for the last flight

Nothing hard to 'figure'. I don't crash much which probably explains why I crash even less on 'the last flight' of the day. If you crash regularly then law of averages says a good few will be the last flight. it isn't rocket science to figure that one.

And yes, i guess i don't 'push' nearly as hard as some. If i 'pushed and crashed' half as often as some seem to do I'd just get disillusioned and take up stamp collecting. I admire the resilience and perseverance of those who can shrug off regular crashing off..

That's a shame and it was going so well too!

Don't be afraid to take your nano QX outdoors too (as long as it's a calm day). Been flying mine outdoors more often in the last few weeks with good results. Now flying it exclusively in agile mode outdoors and the extra space makes a big difference. Must have racked up over 300 flights on it by now, with maybe 25 or so of those outdoors. In contrast my 130X has managed a whole 2 minutes of hovering before I stripped the tail drive gear on landing.

I'm still planning to get a 200 SRX, but no hurry at the moment. I'm still on an upward learning curve with the sim and micros. I really don't want to be smashing it up at the rate you guys have been recently!

Only reason we're crashing is because we are pushing the limits of modern aviation flying skills!!

While it's not compulsory to crash, for some - myself included - it's how we learned. You've got to find your comfort zone, using hobby king allowed me to lower my 450crash costs to around an average £30. For me that was an acceptable amount - even weekly. The upside of crashing is you get good at setup and crash analyses both of which are useful traits.
