  • Great day, first real.....

    Hi all,

Wasn't sure where to post but i guess here is the best place.

Stuck the heli in the car today as there was a chance I would have some time to kill and knowing I would be very close to a very quiet park. Well I found the time to have a play.

Had the Trex450 since last summer but never really flown it due to not having the money to repair it, so only really hovered in the garden etc, u know. Done a fair bit on real flight and phoenix, rolls, loops, invert, fast forward flight etc.

Well the time had come and today was the day to give it a go on something more than the sim and a medevac. Did the checks, pop it into idle up and off we went, bit shakey and pumping like mad.....sure you know what i mean

Anyway did a couple of good circuit's and then got brave and went for it, DID MY FIRST REAL LOOP......yes!!! had to land thou and calm down...lol

Took it up again and did another and then a roll which went abit wrong but thank god for the sims because without really thinking i managed to recover and get her stable....phew..had to land it and recover myself.

Changed the battery and pants , went again and then went for an invert hover and held it for a good 20+ seconds. Finished off doing a few quick FF circuits and very lazy eights but boy did it feel good. Anyway landed and went home all in one bit...wow I'm so pleased and i'm now thinking I need more batteries, 2 is not enough.

Any how just had to tell someone...lol

    Cheers

    Dorian

Yer probably a good thing that I only had two packs...lol

I've done all sorts of things but can remember having such a buzz for a long time.

Even had a hawk flying around having a good look, now that could have been interesting

          Well done that man.
I must say you did take it on big time for a first attempt!
I have only managed to progress to a few circuits and that has already cost me dearly.
          Good going. Keep it up.

                all, still buzzing!

Just loads of time on the sims, me thinks and the medevac has got to have helped.

Did find that the baby trex seemed rather small when it comes to the big open sky. I'm sure it could have very easily gone wrong and it did get abit to close for comfort to a set of phone lines at the edge of the park, had a bit of fixation creeping in i think.

I'm also sure that this forum has helped me loads.

I'm sure that target fixation effects new and old, seen it so many times in other sports etc.

Anyway, can any body recommend a club in leicestershire/warwickshire?
