          picked up rear rotor last night fitted it on heli, all excited with day off and a bit of practice with heli got blades spinning then smoke from rear rotor motor, found I fitted rotor blades around wrong way would this cause motor to burn out, after a phone call sourced motor, then after trying to take off motor found black casing cracked after another phone call managed to source casing, so at mo heli in bits, bit of a baptism of fire for me.

            I'm only guessing but I'd probably say yes. As its a motor even if you reversed the polarity it'd merely spin backwards. What I'm thinking is if you've put blades back to front it'd try to go back causing extra strain on motor. Someone more in the know may correct me. Only a guess

              Tail blades point shiny side out.

                  ordered tail motor and casing off of midland heli yesterday and arrived today, big thumbs up to them for service, heli all back together ready for next outing,
