  • Twister Medivac Bell

Hi Just got a Twister Medivac Bell today - Great I love it, I've only been skidding around the floor with it so far getting used to the controls - however there seems to be a horrendous problem when switching OFF the controls!

The helicopter becomes alive with a mind of it's own! Eventually after switching the control pack on and off a couple of times the helicopter stops!

What do I do? What am I doing wrong?

    Hope someone can help.

unplug the battery first then switch off the tx and always switch on the tx first when starting!

Thanks guys for that! I thought it would have been something very simple and something of my inexperience!

I'm absolutley loving it and it all started off with one of those Infra-red toy helicopters!

kool, its easy to be bitten by the bug. You must practise safety with any helicopter though mate. They are not toys. You must understand that. I know the medivac looks like it wont do any damage but them blades can be quite sharp so be careful what your doing mate. If you get something bigger then definately join a club, dont go at it yourself because forgetting a little thing like what you have just done can be extremely dangerous with anything bigger.
          Cheers

I've got a friend who is in a club, and he's going to take me across to join, but certainly won't be getting anything bigger until I can master the medivac.

Yes I did kinda panic when the chopper started to do it's own thing!

Will you be getting Phoenix next ???? Very addictive indeed..
I started just after Christmas with one of the infra red jobs, then a Twister Bell 47, then a few weeks later a Blade and now Raptor 30, which is the easiest of them all to fly.
Listen to all the safety advice on here though especially when you step up from the contra..
Good luck and welcome to addiction and a permanently struggling bank balance..

Congrats with you new heli mate, as mentioned above if bare flesh has a blade strike it hurts a little, however depending on your luck, if the blade breaks and has another whack it can cut.

It's happened to me a few times in the past , before I knew what I was doing and trying to be a smart arse, the broken sharp blade didn't bring up blood, but left an "about to bleed" cut.

Remember small hops to Begin with, and always take off in the center of your flying space with the tail in towards you.

Best of luck and do tell us how you progress, BTW, buy some spare blades soon, as your need them at this stage of learning.
