  • Rebuilding servos

    Hi people,
Had a quick flight today and staight away after i took off the wind blew it backwards and the heli had unplesant meeting with the ground.
After replacing the feathering shaft,mainshaft,1 blade gripper and
replacing some gears in two of the servos,I realised that i forgot to look at their setup,So i now have the servos maxing out or not moving at all.
Any idaes How can i set these up as they should be?

    cheers guys

      Hi Shubee

I bought the blade 400 because i wanted to fly outside as i have not won the lottery yet!! and so don't have a big enough house to fly a cx2 in.
This was the one recomended buy the guys here and my LMS bscause it can be toned down.I am well pleased with it, It gives you such a buzz as it winds up and it sounds the nuts.I have already had to replace various parts as you can see,But it is alot easier than i thought. My friend bought a cx2 and now feels he should have just gone down the same route as me he has the same problem as me no space inside.
Are you a newbe too? and thinking of this as your first heli

        Yeah I'm a newbie..

I was all set to go and buy Phoenix and a CX2 but then like you I thought the CX2 will be fun for a little while but then I will get frustrated when I dont have any room in the house to try and make good use of it and advance..

I will definitely get Phoenix regardless, I am thinking of hitting the sim hard for a few months then getting a Blade 400 just after a few more peoples opinions..

My mate has a twister medivac and he hardly uses it because he wants to take it outside but most of the time its too windy.

        Cheers for replying dude

My impressions based on my deciding between the blade, a twister storm and a trex 450S, were that the blade was rather fragile. If I had decided to go for a new heli, I think the twister
storm would probably have gotten my money. It and a 2.4GHz Rx/Tx would come in at the £250 mark, for a heli that looks to be a bit more robust than the blade, all be it with a tiny bit more assembly.

Please do check around on that though, It is only my amature opinion based on forum crawling.

            Trex 450SE V1
            - Futaba 2.4GHz.
Bladerunner Micro Mosquito - The toy.
            Pheonix -
The less expensive way to crash.

The Blade 400 and the Twister storm are essentially the same heli.
Frames are slightly different, but appart from the color everything else is the same.
Blade has better servos, and well worth the money as it comes with the DX6i, and all the programming has been done for you.

For what they cost, they are fantastic value for money, and the spares are really cheap as well.

                Hi

I've got phoenix sim & twister storm. I think the twister is a better option than the blade, as the replacement parts are cheaper.
I find that hours on the flight sim & arse clenching minutes hovering the real thing is about the right dosage. I've just got to the stage of real flight & being able to breath.

Do add weather after getting the hang of the sim. Both the Blade & Twister are light helis so get buffeted abit. The weather training on the sim stops the sudden increase/decrease on the left stick avoiding a big bottom lip. For Now........

Oh, Radds school of flight is the dogs too......
