Hk450 question

Hay guys. I'm new to helis been flying fpv quads for a while. Thought I would do a cheep build. Got my hk450 v2 delivered. Thought brill till I come to all the hex bolts. I have lots of hex kits. Imperial and metric. Not one I had would fit the bolts properly some were Close some were way out. Anyone else had the same problems?

ended up using grips and insulation tape on some bolts ie the tail clamp to get it to stop slipping to keep the belt tight

Hi Jamie, unfortunately even the true align ones can be tricky, the metal is soft and quality and accuracy are not spot on. It may help if you push right in, sometimes you need to 'click' into the head and it is a better fit. Any movement will generally lead to a rounded hex. Make sure your alen keys or tools are new with decent heads. Don't do screws up Hercules tight they aren't car wheel nuts!! Nip them up so the just bite then maybe a quarter turn to nip them up. It may help when removing to heat them slightly with solder iron to release any threadlock. Failing that use a dremel or similar to cut a slot in head and use a screwdriver.

I built a hk pro v2 3 days ago and am well impressed. It went togeather easy and now flys fine. No problem with alan keys but then I was useing hk drivers.

I will be replacing the swash if I cant get rid of the slop. The gears are a bit iffy. Main blades are ok after balancing and the tail blades flop like a prick in a bucket. This is me being critical. I will be ordering another soon..
