Hi Iceuk, I had to reset my to so it's now set up as standard on intermediate and thanks to your input I can hover tail in, both side on with sim and my mcpx. Learning nose in now. Thumbs are working well lol.

LOL. I took a video of my Trex500's maiden hover just after I'd finished building it. I was an absolute bag of nerves!

Wish my maiden on my 500 efl pro went that well... didnt quite have mine setup right and when it started to tip left I tried to pop it up to save it... what happened next was not my intention and gave me a big fright... moral of the story is get somebody to check your setup as its a big step up from a micro heli

I watched your maiden video the other day Gecko, you did well getting it back on the ground. Especially as you only meant to hover it.

Any flight, during which the heli remains intact, is a successful flight.

got a bit of a tight spot for a maiden. I would find the biggest open space you can and if it starts to drift off and you feel uncomfortable just put it down and re line yourself up and have another go. Nice maiden still, always a good feeling.

Texxaco just wait till you spin up a 700 for the first time. Makes the 500 look like a toy. All relative.

Another point is dont pay any attention to the pitch and throttle curves in the Align manual. Make sure you have a flat throttle curve. Even in normal mode go something like 0,75,75,75,75 so once you take off you are always at 75% (unless you go full stick down)
I watched a guy trying to learn the other day on a 450 and every time he changed the collective the throttle would change and he was sort of chasing his tail on the collective and the throttle was under and over shooting him.

Considering the biggest I had flown before was my 130x I had serious brown pants after that! Just hope others can learn that things can happen that quickly.

I am a long way from 700. Not even built my 500 yet. My maiden will be in a rather large field hopefully with someone of the forum for some moral support.

That's nothing. I maidened my 700 on the same patch of lawn!

These are just maiden HOVERS though! Proper flights always came later at the field ...
